WHEELER, Ronald - age 78 passed away on Thursday March 6, 2014 at his home in Clio with his wife at his side. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at St. Timothy Lutheran Church, 450 E. Wilson Rd. in Otisville. Pastor David Weiss officiating. Burial to follow in Thetford Township Cemetery with military honors. Friends may call at the O'Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio on Sunday from 4-7PM, Monday from 1-4 and 5-7PM. He will lie in state at the church on Tuesday from 10 AM until time of services at 11 AM. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Timothy Lutheran Church, Otisville Michigan.
Ron was born April 4, 1935 in Clio, Michigan to the late Gilbert and Leona (Luark) Wheeler. He has resided in the Clio area all of his life; 1953 graduate of Clio High school. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict, and a member of the American Legion. He retired from General Motors with 39 yrs. of service; member of UAW Local #599. Ron was a member of St. Timothy Lutheran Church Otisville, where he served for many years, in many capacities. He also was a member of Trinity Lutheran in Casa Grand, Arizona where he spent his winters. He served on Kyrex where he would bring God's word to prisoners. Ron was an avid fisherman, loved having coffee with his friends, and most of all spending time with his family. Ron always said that he was almost "perfect", and now he is "perfect" walking with the Lord.
He was a wonderful husband to his wife Margaret (Maggie Lehr), who he married on June 30, 1990. He is survived by her, and his children Gary (Lori) Wheeler, Rhonda (Jack) Burks, Darren, and Stuart (Kim) Wheeler; grandchildren Ashley, Amber, Ericka, Kimberly, Brandon, Brittani, Becky, and several great grandchildren; brother and sisters, Loretta (Alvin) Bradburn, Bruce (Patsy) Wheeler, Patricia Scott, Jeff Wheeler, Robert (Linda) Lehr, Betty Wagner, Mary (Harold) Ford, and James (Yugi) Lehr.
