KOCHANEY, Robert P. – of Flint, age 88, passed away Thursday, January 10, 2013 at McLaren Flint. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 AM Monday, January 14, 2013 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 2415 Bagley St., Flint, Fr. Thomas Firestone celebrant. Burial will be in St. Patrick Cemetery in Bay City. The family will receive visitors from 1-7 PM Sunday at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the service on Monday at the church.
Robert was born in Bay City, MI on January 6, 1925, son of the late Andrew and Martha (Andrejewski) Kochaney. Robert married Virginia Jean in 1948 and she preceded him in death in 2001. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII. Robert was a teacher at Flint Southwestern Academy and retired in 1987. He was a member of St. John Vianney Catholic Church.
Robert is survived by daughters, Martha (Richard) Long, Julie (Robert) Roehrig; 4 grandchildren, Nicole Roehrig, Robby Roehrig, Jennifer Rizzardi, Rebecca McClain; 5 great-grandchildren, Brooklyn, Bailey, Elizabeth, Emily, Cameron; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by 10 siblings.
