BURNS, Lloyd J. - Age 83, of Linden, died Wednesday, April 20, 2016. Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, April 23, 2016 at Hope Lutheran Church, 7355 Silver Lake Road, Linden. Pastor Jim Rolf officiating. Burial in Evergreen Cemetery, Alpena. Visitation will be held at Sharp Funeral Homes, Linden Chapel, 209 E. Broad St, Linden Friday from 2-8 PM and at church Saturday from 12:00 PM until the time of service. Those desiring may make contributions to Hope Lutheran Church.
Lloyd was born May 18, 1932 in Alpena the son of Joseph and Irene (Rouleau) Burns. He married Carol Alvene Bey September 30, 1950 in Herron and she preceded him in death June 28, 2007. He had resided in Linden since 1996 coming from Florida/Alpena. Lloyd retired in 1984 from National Gypsum after 31 years of service. He was a member of Hope Lutheran Church in Linden.
Surviving are: 6 children, Michael Burns and fiancee Marilyn Block of Iowa, William and wife Margie Burns of Ohio, Cheryl and husband Ronald Wintland of Linden, Karen and husband Charles Budnick of Alpena, Steven and wife Rosanne Burns of Linden, and Phillip Burns of Arizona; 11 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild; siblings, Precellia MacKenzie of Alpena, Phyllis Kenyon of Hillman, Evelyn Alexander of Alpena, Carol and husband Terry LaCross of Alpena, Gordon and wife Judy Burns of Ossineke, and Donald and wife Mary Burns of Pennsylvania; and several nieces and nephews.
He also was preceded in death by his parents; son, John Burns; daughter-in-law, Donna Burns and 2 brothers, Ernest and Joseph Burns. Online tributes may be posted on the obituaries page at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com. |
