ARMOR, Carl Marvin Sr. - Of Flint, age 94, died Monday, January 14, 2019 at his residence.
Funeral service will be held 11am Thursday, January 17, 2019 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint.
Deacon Wayne Corrion officiating.
Burial in Sunset Hills Cemetery.
Contributions may be made to VFW Post# 3720 in Swartz Creek.
Visitation 4-8pm Wednesday and 10am Thursday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Carl was born in Broseley, Missouri on March 4, 1924, the son of the late Harvey and May (Ligon) Armor and was one of 13 children. Carl was a Veteran of World War II and was also a P.O.W. He received the Bronze Star and Purple Heart. He was a member of VFW Post #3720 and a member of Disabled American Veterans. On March 2, 1946, he married Caroline Congemi and she preceded him in death on June 8, 2000. Carl worked at Fisher Body I for 30 years, retiring in 1976. He enjoyed family life and being with his grandchildren.
Surviving are daughter, Cynthia (Verle) Gilbert;
daughter-in-law, JoAnn Armor;
grandchildren, Anthony (Lisa) Armor, Joseph Armor, Verle III (Mandy) Gilbert, Todd Gilbert and Alisa (John) Harwell;
10 great-grandchildren;
many nieces and nephews;
and sisters, Kathleen Ross and Dorothy Trout.
He was preceded in death by his son, Carl Jr. on March 20, 2015.
