Mark Joseph Bobalik, age 71, passed away peacefully at his residence on August 20, 2024. Mark was born on February 9, 1953 in Flint, MI to the late Joseph and Helen (Parker) Bobalik. He was a beloved son and special brother to his 3 sisters, Pamela (Tom) White, Lana (Ted) Fattal and Julie Hall. Mark was a very proud uncle to 4 nieces and 5 nephews who loved him very much. Mark also has 14 grandnieces and 4 grandnephews. He was preceded in death by his older brother who passed at birth, Joseph Bobalik. Mark graduated from Flint Northern High School in Flint, MI in 1973. He truly loved spending time with his very large extended family playing Euchre and 31; those were his favorite card games. Whenever he won, which was often, he got a unique grin on his face that was priceless. He also loved doing jigsaw puzzles, playing bingo and spending time up north fishing. He loved listening to the radio and would often call his favorite station to request a song. Mark also loved listening to his uncles playing their accordions and guitars. He was an avid fan of all Michigan sports teams, pro and college, but the Detroit Tigers were always #1. Mark loved watching or listening to games with his best friend, his Dad. He would often call his sisters to remind them when there was a game on. Mark assisted as a Cantor at St Michael Byzantine Catholic Church and loved his job at the Errol Estates golf club in Apopka, Fl, never missing work, proudly driving his golf cart to the course. A funeral liturgy will be celebrated to honor his life at 10:00 am on Saturday, August 31, 2024 at St Michael Byzantine Catholic Church, 2333 N Elms Rd, Flushing MI. The family will receive family and friends for viewing starting at 9:00 am. Interment will be at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery followed by a luncheon back at the church hall. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St Michael Church or Autism Speaks in memory of Mark.
