Benson, Harold Dean - Age 80, of Grand Blanc, passed away December 29, 2017. Harold was born May 7, 1937 in Flint, Mi. He was the youngest son of Floyd and Grace (Simmons) Benson. He graduated from Mandeville High School in 1956. He worked at his family's business, The Seat Cover Shop in Flint. Later he worked at GM, Chevrolet Division. After 30 years of service he retired. Harold married Peggy Ann (Hall) on April 13, 1973. They enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, and spending time walking thru the woods. He is survived by his brother, Bill Benson, of Denver, CO.; nieces, Linda Williams of Denver, CO. and Kathy Zitnik of Kansas, City, MO; nephew, Kenneth (Debbie) Hall II; stepdaughter, Susan (Glen) Slater of Grand Blanc; granddaughters, Amy Morse of Grand Blanc, Missy Patterson of Grand Rapids; and several great grandchildren; great nieces and nephews. According to Harold's wishes no service will be held. Cremation to follow and interment will be held at a later date at Evergreen Cemetery. Those desiring may make contributions to the charity of choice. Harold was preceded in death by his parents; wife Peggy of 44 years; brother, Ray Benson; sister, Evelyn Hall; niece, Teri Luten; and stepson Robert Roat.
