I, Mr. Freddie L Brown III was born December 9, 1999 to Eld. Freddie L. Brown Jr. and Mrs. Cassandra Brown, my awesome parents. When I emerged into this world my face was beet red. This was probably due to all the red foods my mom consumed while pregnant with me: spaghetti, taco sauce, watermelon, you name it she ate it. This is how I got the name “Redd”. My parents were so happy to welcome me. Listen y’all, my mom prayed and waited and waited and prayed 15 long years before God blessed her to conceive me. My mom was 40 and my dad 39 when I was born, they were old enough to be my grandparents LOL. I was their miracle baby. So you know the devil was mad and I spent the first 4 days of my life in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. I wasn’t your typical child. I didn’t play with many toys but I loved my red flash light and used it as microphone. My mom gave me a little bible and my dad gave me one of his handkerchiefs. I would put my suit coat on over my pajamas and preach, pray and shout from sun up to sun down (those were fun times). People have always told me I had a sweet and shy demeanor but I also had a great sense of humor. My friends would say I was laid back, kind-hearted, loyal and always cool with everyone. I never met a stranger because I made friends wherever I went.
I graduated from Grand Blanc High School in 2018. I furthered my education at Mott Community College and continued to pursue my dream of playing football. I played all throughout middle and high school and it was my dream to play in the NFL. I was excited about going to Michigan State this fall so I could play. In my downtime I enjoyed playing my PS4 with my boys (Fortnite & Call of Duty), going on trips, watching movies, listening to music and playing board games, especially Phase 10 (I played with Shayla ALL THE TIME). My dad was an ordained Elder in the COGIC, so you know I spent my life in church. I was a young cool guy, but not too cool to accept Christ as my Lord and Savior. I attended Sunday School, was a member of the choir and I worked as the Jackson Memorial Sound Technician. I LOVED to praise dance. I am grateful to my parents for giving me such a solid foundation and a life full of love.
My mom and I were devastated when my dad passed (March 26, 2020). We were loving on and taking care of each other. We planned to travel and see the world together. Mom you were going to drop me off at Michigan State University in the fall. I know you are devastated that I am not there with you. I want you to remember all of the good times you, dad and I had. God had other plans for me Mom and I am sorry that you are hurting. We were just talking about being together while dad watched over us from heaven. For all I know, I think dad got up there and said “Lord let me go get Boopie ain’t no telling what Sandy’s gonna have him doing.” Instead of dad watching over us, WE WILL BE WATCHING OVER YOU! I love you Mom.
