WISKUR, Michael L. Sr., – of Clio, age 80, died on Tuesday, January 21, 2020 at Hurley Medical Center. Honoring Michael’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Mass of Resurrection will be held at 11AM Friday, January 24, 2020 at SS. Charles and Helena Catholic Church, 230 E. Vienna St. in Clio. Rev. Fr. Kenneth Coughlin officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to SS. Charles & Helena Catholic Church.
Michael was born April 6, 1939 in Verdi Township, Minnesota to the late Edward and Florence (Palmer) Wiskur. He grew up in Elkton, South Dakota before moving to Flint, Michigan. Michael graduated from St. John Vianney Catholic School with the class of 1957 and also graduated from Barber School in Flint, Michigan. He served his country in the U.S. Army. On February 23, 1963 he married Peggy Ann Brandon and she preceded him in death on June 16, 2003. Michael owned and operated Wiskur’s Barber Shop in Flint for over 40 years. He also was a Barber at Hicks Outdoors for several years. Michael was a member of SS. Charles & Helena Catholic Church. He was an avid outdoorsman and coached Little League for several years in the 1970’s and 1980’s. Michael enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren.
Surviving are: Children: Michael (Lori) Wiskur Jr., Brian (Christina) Wiskur, Todd (Heidi) Wiskur, Eric (Catrina) Wiskur, Brad (Becky) Wiskur; Grandchildren: Lindsay, Austin, Ethan, Jordan, Bret, Maranda, Madison, Matthew, Colton, Stuart, Leighanna, Briar, Schaefer, and Lexis; Brother, Dale (Maryann) Wiskur; Several nieces and nephews.
