NEELY, Patricia Ann (Benoit) – of Flint, MI, age 87, passed away Thursday, August 29, 2024. A Graveside Service will be held 2 PM Thursday, September 5, 2024 at Flint Memorial Park Cemetery, 9506 North Dort Hwy, Mount Morris, MI 48458; her grandson, Pastor Jammie Rose officiating.
Patricia was born in Trout Lake, MI on May 31, 1937, daughter of the late Kenneth and Winfred (Shoemaker) Benoit. On February 15, 1958, she married Gerald “Jerry” D. Neely and he preceded her in death on March 1, 2018. Patricia's life was a tapestry of simple, profound joys. She cherished teaching neighborhood children to appreciate the wonders of nature, guiding them on countless hikes through the woods and instilling in them a deep respect for the environment. Her summers were devoted to sharing her faith as a Bible School Teacher, where her kindness and wisdom touched many young hearts. An avid lover of flowers and fishing, Patricia found tranquility and happiness in the natural world, often spending serene moments by the water or tending to her garden. Her greatest delight, however, was in the time she spent with her beloved grandchildren, creating memories that will be treasured forever. Patricia's warmth, generosity, and spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue to inspire and nurture those whose lives she touched.
Patricia is survived by 3 children, Bryon Neely, Terri (Kenneth) Rose and Lorie (Bob) Wheaton; 5 grandchildren, Jammie (Andrea) Rose, Nikki Rose, Zack (Lyndsey) Rose, Gerald (Jenna) Neely and Rachelle Detman; 12 great-grandchildren; brother, Kenneth (Donna) Benoit, Jr.; many other loving family members and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Winfred Benoit; husband, Gerald “Jerry” D. Neely; son, Fred John Neely; 2 brothers, Larry Ace and Walt Benoit.
