While growing up during the depression years she was a housekeeper for Flint area families. She graduated from Northern High School, Flint, MI in 1938. She met John F. Ryzak of Flushing at a dance and on November 29, 1941, they married in Bowling Green, OH. During WWII she worked at AC Spark Plug in Flint. While her children were young she was a homemaker; and worked on the family farm until her husband retired. She also worked for the Flushing School District as a school bus driver for 32 years, retiring in 1991. After retirement she volunteered as a pink lady at McLaren Hospital until age 85.
Mary enjoyed traveling the United States and Canada; especially to see her son, David, who has lived in several western states.
