MITCHELL, Bernice (Hillier) – of Davison, age 93, passed away Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at The Pines of Lapeer. A Funeral Service will be held 11 AM Saturday, January 18, 2014 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison; Pastor John Vannest officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-8 PM Thursday, 2-4 and 6-8 PM Friday. On Saturday, visitation will be from 10 AM until the time of service. Memorial contribution may be made to the Charity of Donor’s Choice.
Bernice was born in Lapeer, MI on September 11, 1920, daughter of the late Earl and Grace (Crampton) Hillier. She married Nathan Mitchell on January 26, 1944. Bernice was a member of Davison Free Methodist Church. She worked at AC Spark Plug during WW II and then for Davison Schools. Bernice enjoyed cooking, trying new recipes, crocheting and spending time with her family.
Bernice is survived by her children, Judy (Wayne) Perdue, Larry (Liz), Tom (Kathy) and Mark (Karen); nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Nathan; brothers, Alton, Harry and Raymond; sisters, Bertha and Mildred.
