RUMBEL, Barbara Elizabeth (Greenman) – of Grand Blanc, Michigan, passed away Friday, July 10, 2020 at Ascension Genesys Hospital. Cremation has taken place, and a private Memorial Service will take place at a later date. Donations may be made to the Quota of Flint Foundation, 6318 MacKenzie Cr, Flint, MI 48507, in Barbara’s memory.
Barbara was born in Upland, Pennsylvania, daughter of the late Arthur and Barbara (Cross) Greenman. She celebrated her 89th birthday on June 29th. She graduated from Eddystone High School (PA) in 1950. On June 24, 1950 she married Wayne Lee Rumbel in Elkton, Maryland. He preceded her in death on September 17, 2002. They lived in Chester and Trainer, PA, until 1964 when they moved to Flint, MI for his job with Dupont.
Barbara was employed by the Philadelphia Bulletin, Philadelphia, PA, The Delaware County Times, Chester, PA, Standard Cotton, Flint, Summerfield Chevrolet, Flint, Al Serra Chevrolet, Grand Blanc and retired from Clark Equipment Company. She was very active in the community holding several office and committee positions in Quota International. She was also active in Allegro at the Flint Institute of Music. She loved knitting and made hundreds of pairs of socks for her family, as well as friends. She loved to travel, attending the theater, and reading. She traveled extensively all over the country and world with her Quota friends.
Barbara is survived by her children, Lois (Kelly) Revenaugh of Lehighton, PA, Wayne (Linda Robbins) Rumbel of Grand Blanc, Gene (Kathy Nedela) Rumbel of Davison and Barbara (Rich) Childs of Flint; grandchildren, Tori (Darren) Petterson of Grand Haven, Rob (Margeaux Rosinski) Rumbel of Gaylord, Merissa Rumbel of Davison, Mackenzie Rumbel and fiancé Joshua Vanderpipe of Kaneohe, Hawaii; step grandchildren, Tyler Childs of Clio and Joel Childs of Flint; great-grandchildren, Hailey and Jake Petterson, and Bella and Logan Rumbel; step great granddaughter, Elise Childs.
