Sockow, Shirley G. - Age 70, of Byron, died June 11, 2013. Funeral services will be held 4 PM Friday, June 14, 2013, at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. Pastor Chris Cramer officiating. Private family burial at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly at a later date. Visitation will be held 12PM - 3PM and 5PM - 9PM Thursday. Visitation will also be held 1 PM until time of service on Friday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make contributions to the family. Shirley was born February 7, 1943 in Widen , West Virginia, the daughter of the late Oscar C. and Beulah N. (Woods) Brady. She married Earl Sockow on April 1, 1972 he preceded her in death August 30, 2012. Shirley enjoyed crocheting and embroidery . She attended Orchard Grove Community Church, member of FOE, Past Madam President and worked at Kasamer Group Home for many years. Surviving are: children, Scott (Faryl) Brady of AZ, Sheila Sockow of Milford, Traci Raymond of Sebawing, Melinda (Pat) Murphy of Commerce, Earl Sockow Jr. of Commerce, Robbin Hartman of Fairgrove, MI, Joe Brady of Az, Tanya Carritti of Waterford; 25 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; sisters Winnifred Ziesak of Harrison, Nuala C. (Johnny) Scroggins of Byron; brothers, Edward Brady of White Lake, Leroy (Billie) Brady of Harrison, sister-in-law, Nancy (Jim) Skinner of Novi; many nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by, daughter April Forys and sister, Sharon, son-in-law, Dave Hartman and son-in-law Dave Raymond.
