Theodore J. "Ted" Niver, 91, of National City, MI, died Wednesday November 23, 2016. He was born August 14, 1925 in Flint to parents Lloyd and Blanche (Parks) Niver. Mr. Niver proudly served his country during WWII in the United States Army. He returned home to marry Irene Ruth Thiem on April 12, 1947 in Herron, MI.
While living in Davison, Mr. Niver was a member of the American Legion Post #267. Ted worked for General Motors for 31 years, retiring in 1977. Upon his retirement, he and Mrs. Niver moved to National City where they were members of St. Paul Lutheran Church in nearby Hale, ever since. Ted always enjoyed working in the yard, flower gardening, hunting, fishing & boating and watching football. Proud to married 69 years to Irene, they loved wintering in Florida.
Mr. Niver is survived by his wife: Irene, sons: Greg (Shelby) Niver of Jefferson, NC; Mark (Lisa) Niver of Lapeer, grandchildren: Christopher; Nicole; Sarah, great-grandchildren: Chance; Ella; Honor; Kori and Skylar, brother-in-law: Lloyd Krumm as well as many nieces and nephews. Ted was preceded in death by his brother: Kenneth Niver, half-brother: Robert Busler, sisters: Marjary Tubbs; Peggy Krumm and Millie Elkins as well as his parents.
Mr. Niver's visitation will be 10:30-12noon Friday at Muir Brothers Funeral Home, Lapeer. His funeral will immediately follow viewing at 12:00noon Friday November 25, 2016 at the funeral home officiated by Pastor Dean Muhle. Burial will follow in Crestwood Cemetery, Grand Blanc.
