SULLENGER, Ronald (Ron) - Of Grand Blanc, age 83, died Saturday, December 1, 2018 at Abbey Park Independent Living.
Funeral service will be held 11am Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint,
Visitation 4-8pm Tuesday at the funeral home.
Minister Jeff Switzer officiating.
Burial in Evergreen Cemetery.
Those desiring may make contributions to Michigan Christian Youth Camp.
Ron was born in Herrin, Illinois on April 10, 1935. He moved to Flint, Michigan in 1939. On January 17, 1959, he married Donna (Stevens) Sullenger. He was a graduate of General Motor Institute, Class of 1957. Ron was employed as a Carpenter by General Motors at Flint Metal Fabricating for 38 years, retiring in 1991. He loved the Lord, and was a member of Valley church of Christ. Ron’s favorite activities were centered on his children and grandchildren, he especially enjoyed helping them with home improvement projects. He always loved cars. Ron also liked to bowl and scored his first 300 game in the Flint Men’s Senior Tournament at the age of 70.
Surviving are daughter, Rhonda and husband Keith Laurin of Flushing;
son, Phil and wife Rosemarie of Grand Blanc;
4 grandchildren, Anjela, Nicole, Andrew and Charlotte (Francesco)Rocchio;
grand Godson, Torrey Robinson;
sister, Norma Maguffee of Flint;
many nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by his wife, Donna, on May 4, 2018, parents, Jesse and Florene (Shafer) Sullenger, and brother, Byron.
Heartfelt acknowledgement to the wonderful staff and residents of Grand Blanc’s Abbey Park Independent Living where Ron and Donna lives were enriched.
