BOVEE, Margaret C. – of Burton, Age 84, passed away April 7, 2016 at Hurley Medical Center. A Funeral Service will be held 11 AM Monday, April 11, 2016 at Westwood Heights Free Methodist Church, 3397 Windland Dr. Flint; Dr. Bruce N.G. Cromwell officiating. Burial will be in Davison Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-8 PM Sunday at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison. There will also be one hour of visitation prior to the service at the church on Monday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Westwood Heights Free Methodist Church.
Margaret was born in Nunda, NY on August 10, 1931, daughter of the late William and Ruby (Wambold) Cromwell. She married Dean Smith in Belfast, NY in December 1951. Dean was sadly killed in the Korean War. Margaret then married Wayne Bovee on August 4, 1956. She was a charter member at the Westwood Heights Free Methodist Church and was a teacher in the Flint school system for 23 years. Margaret battled breast cancer for over 25 years. She enjoyed birdwatching, reading, and doing jigsaw puzzles.
Margaret is survived by her husband of 59 years, Wayne; children, Terry (Janet) Bovee, Dr. Wendy Nyland, Jeffrey (Tamara) Bovee; grandchildren, Courtney (Kyle) Wilson, Lindsay Weaver, Alan and Joel Bovee; great-granddaughter, Claire Wilson; brothers, Lee (Kay) Cromwell, Merle (Mary Lou) Cromwell; many nieces and nephews. Margaret was preceded in death by her brothers, Ralph, Gordon, Keith and sister, Arlene Banks.
