DREUTH, Henry J. – of Flint, age 88, passed away Tuesday, December 3, 2013 at Gentiva Hospice. A Funeral Service will be held 12 PM Friday, December 6, 2013 at Pilgrim Lutheran Church, 3222 S. Genesee Rd., Burton, Pastor Daniel A. Wonderly officiating. Burial will be in Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will welcome visitors from 4-8 PM on Thursday at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the service on Friday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Pilgrim Lutheran Church or Flint Association for the Deaf.
Henry was born in Flint, MI on June 18, 1925, son of the late Henry and Marie (Adolf) Dreuth. He graduated from the Michigan School for the Deaf in 1944. Henry married Dorothy Lamb on August 16, 1947 in Muskegon, MI. He retired from General Motors Fisher Body II. Henry was a member of Pilgrim Lutheran Church, a lifelong member of the Flint Association for the Deaf, where he served as past President and Treasurer. He enjoyed bowling, woodworking and was a gifted stain glass artist. Henry was an avid fan of the Detroit Tigers.
Henry is survived by his wife, Dorothy; children, Darlene (Bud) Swett, John (Catherine) Dreuth; grandchildren, Victoria, Deborah, Chad, Jenny, Jody, Shanna, Elizabeth; 12 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; sisters, Ruth (Dean) Harris, Dorothy Bell and Bertha (Dick) Dusseau.
