O’DELL, Donald E. - of Clio, age 87, died Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at Angel Manor in Clio. Funeral services will be held 12PM Monday, February 12, 2018 at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio. Pastor Dan Shinabarger officiating. Burial to follow in Flint Memorial Park. Family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Sunday from 1PM until 7PM and on Monday from 11AM until the time of service at 12PM.
Donald was born April 2, 1930 in Flint, Michigan to the late John and Edna (Ramsdell) O’Dell. He attended Mt. Morris High School. Donald married Dawn McDiarmid on May 18, 1956 in Flint. He served in the US Army during the Korean War. Mr. O’Dell retired from Buick in 1994 with 42 years seniority and was a member of the UAW Local #599. Donald attended New Covenant Free Methodist Church for many years. He enjoyed reading and watching sports, especially the Detroit Tigers, Lions, and University of Michigan Football. Donald loved his family, friends, and his little gray cat, Smokey.
Surviving are: Wife, Dawn; Daughter, Denise (Bill Aikin) O’Dell; Granddaughters: Kelly (Lance) Luther and Erin (Kyle) Shuberg; Great Grandchildren: Mason Shuberg, Grant Shuberg, Beckett Shuberg, Cash Luther, and Carr Luther; Daughter-in-law, Kathy O’Dell; Sister-in-law, Dorothy Ross, and several nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his sons, Gregory O’Dell, Michael O’Dell, 1 brother, and 5 sisters. The family would like to extend a thank you to special neighbors, Dave and Wanda Lasley.
