COLLINS, James L. – of Flint, MI, age 86, passed away Saturday, December 22, 2018. A Funeral Service will be held 7 PM Friday, December 28, 2018 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423. Cremation will take place following the service. The family will receive visitors 2-7 PM Friday, December 28, 2018 at Allen Funeral Home.
James was born in Tamarack Mills, MI on December 2, 1932, son of the late Arthur and Sofi (Luoma) Collins. He married Barbra Rost on May 11, 1957 in Mohawk, MI. James was employed by Thurner Bakery in Calumet, MI, Davany Plumbing as well as Harrison Mechanical. He enjoyed playing cards, building puzzles as well as watching the Tigers and Red Wings. He was an avid bicyclist. James found lots of enjoyment spending time with his grandchildren and his dogs.
James is survived by 5 children, Gerry Collins, James (Becky Barber) Collins, Michael Collins, Daniel Collins and Barbara (Walt) Oldeck; 6 grandchildren, Kevin, Katrina, Ashley, Dillon, Madyson and Sophia; brother, Robert (Gladys) Collins; many other loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbra (Rost) Collins and brother, Arthur (Betty) Collins.
