RAGSDALE, Kathleen “Kathy” - Of Grand Blanc, age 76, died Thursday, May 12, 2016 at Hurley Medical Center.
Funeral service will be held 11am Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at Fenton United Methodist Church, 119 South Leroy Street, Fenton.
Pastor Michelle Forsyth officiating.
Burial in Evergreen Cemetery following the service.
Contributions may be made to Lake Fenton Community Schools Foundation, Genesee County Educational Foundation, Vocational Independence Program (VIP) or American Diabetes Association.
Visitation 2-4pm and 6-8pm Monday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint. Mrs. Ragsdale will be at the church from 10am Tuesday until the time of the service.
Kathy was born in Flint on April 7, 1940, the daughter of the late Wallace and Naomi (Thompson) Brown. On August 16, 1962, she married Jerry Ragsdale in Flint. Kathy and Jerry were members of Fenton United Methodist Church. Kathy worked at Hurley Hospital and retired in 1990 after 28 years as Supervisor of Patient Accounts. The first purchase she made after she started working was a bright red and white speedboat. She would teach everybody how to ski. Kathy was a very active grandparent and she loved her family.
Surviving are husband, Jerry;
2 children, Craig (Lisa) and Todd (Kristin);
4 grandchildren, Austin, Emily, Katie and Kyle;
brother, Reginald (Linda) Brown;
sister-in-law, Brenda Yoder;
and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Lanny Yoder.
