BISHOP, Betty Jane – of Burton, age 89, passed away October 28, 2013 at Gentiva Hospice. A Funeral Service will be held 1:00 PM Thursday, October 31, 2013 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison; Rev. Harold K. Polk, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-4 & 6-8 PM Wednesday and 12-1 PM Thursday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Genesee County.
Betty was born in Flint, MI on June 6, 1924, daughter of the late Trevelyn and Mamie (Findley) Rodgers. She married Robert Bishop on November 15, 1952 and he preceded her in death in 1991. Betty was a member of the O.E.S. # 535 of Mt. Morris, Genesee Valley Commandery in Flint and the Davison VFW # 4087 Auxiliary. She worked as an office manager at Helmac for many years.
Betty is survived by her daughter, Dianna and Rick Grimes; grandchildren, Michelle and Ariel; great-grandchildren, Trevelynn, Tristan and Stacie; brother, Robert (Laura) Rodgers.
