LEWIS, Donald C. - Of Swartz Creek, age 84, died Sunday, June 22, 2014 at his residence.
A Memorial Service will be held 6pm Wednesday, June 25, 2014
at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint,
Pastor Wally Rose officiating.
The family will receive friends from 4pm-6pm Wednesday at the funeral home.
Cremation has taken place. Interment with military honors will be in Great Lakes National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Donald was born in Flint on August 21, 1929, the son of the late James and Helen (Brown) Lewis. On June 20, 1953, Donald married Margaret Ann Sarka in Flint. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and family camper. He enjoyed Walleye fishing at Little Bay De Noc and other northern Michigan lakes. Donald proudly served in the United States Air Force and was a member of the American Legion.
Mr. Lewis was the General Supervisor of Accounting at General Motors Institute, retiring in 1986.
Surviving are wife, Margaret Ann;
children, Kim (Ray) Lench, Dennis (Karen) Lewis, Mary Williams, Linda (Doug) Thompson, and Thomas Lewis;
several grandchildren and great-grandchildren;
sister, Frances "Fran" (Frank) Chrastek and brother-in-law, John (Jane) Sarka.
He was preceded in death by his son, Gary Lewis, son-in-law, Scott Williams, brothers, Robert, Kenneth and twin brother, Doug Lewis, sisters, Thelma and Bernice Lewis.
