FOXWORTHY, Margaret Amelia - age 96, of Davison, passed away February 17, 2014 at her residence. A Funeral Service and Celebration of Life will be held 10 AM Saturday, March 1, 2014 at St. Mark Lutheran Church, 5073 Daly Blvd, Flint, Pastor Gary L. Beck officiating. Burial will be in Davison Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-8 PM Friday, February 28, 2014 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the service on Saturday at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you make donations to St. Mark Lutheran Church in Flint, Michigan or McLaren Hospice of Flint, Michigan.
Margaret was born in Flint, MI on August 17, 1917, daughter of the late Thomas and Clara (Bethke) Minto. She married Duane Foxworthy on August 5, 1939. He preceded her in death on March 19, 1988. Margaret was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church, Tri-T Society, Davison Country Club, and several bridge clubs. Margaret was the secretary and bookkeeper for Minto Brothers Construction Company and Davison Country Club for over fifty years. She worked as a volunteer for Goodwill Industries in Flint for several years. She loved her work but most of all she loved her family: siblings, in-laws, nieces and nephews, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Margaret is survived by children, Karen Craig (William), Robert Foxworthy (Desiree); grandchildren, Cara Craig (Robert Peffley), Anne Tillett (Wade), Benjamin Foxworthy and Sophia Foxworthy; great-grandchildren, Alvin, Brianna and Brittney Tillett, Mira and Naelin Peffley; siblings, Thomas Minto, Robert Minto and Alice Stefanko. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Duane Foxworthy; sister, Helen Morrissett; brothers, Oren Minto, Garald Minto, Edward Minto, Harvey Minto and Kenneth Minto. Margaret’s family would like to extent a heartfelt thank you to her caregivers, Jackie Herman and Beth Bunton.
