Newcomb, David Kenneth, age 84, died Sunday, October 4, 2020, peacefully at his home. Private graveside services will take place. An open house celebration of his life at the farm will be Saturday, October 17. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to Flushing United Methodist Church.
David was born in Flint, Michigan on September 16, 1936, the son of Kenneth and Marion (Penoyer) Newcomb. He married Sylvia Thomas on May 24, 1958, in Flushing. They were married 60 years before she preceded him in death on January 7, 2019. David proudly served in the U.S. Army. He retired from DuPont in Flint.
David loved his many friends and neighbors. He was a member of the Two Cylinder Club with his Antique John Deere tractors and Flushing United Methodist Church. David enjoyed tinkering in his barn, going to lunch, and especially loved time with his family and knew how to keep them laughing. He also loved his two cats.
David will be greatly missed by his daughters, Jill Newcomb-Leek and husband Randy, Valerie Newcomb; grandchildren, Riana (Dylan) Matheis, Becka (Tommy) Reed, David and Evan Connors; and sister, Evangeline Chase. |
