WITTUM, Richard Revere – of Clio, age 82, died Sunday, September 13, 2015 at Cranberry Park. Funeral services will be held at 1 PM Thursday, September 17, 2015 at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio. Pastor Ed Emmerling officiating. Entombment to follow in Crestwood Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 11-3 PM and 5-8 PM and on Thursday from 11 AM until time of services at 1 PM. Contributions may be made to Westside Church or the charity of one’s choice.
Richard was born May 2, 1933 in Flint to the late Paul and Rosemary (Grimes) Wittum and was a resident of the Flint area his entire life. Richard served in the US Army from June 1953 to May 1955. He married Ethel Broad on October 22, 1955. She preceded him in death on September 12, 2010. Mr. Wittum retired from the Flint Board of Education in 1987 with 27 years seniority. He was a member of Westside Church. Richard enjoyed bowling, golfing, hunting and riding his motorcycle.
Surviving are: Children: Dennis (Tammy Jo) Wittum of Clio, Allan (Cindy) Wittum of Flint, Michelle (Ronald) Huntoon of Clio; Grandchildren: Ashton, Adam and Aaron Huntoon, Amanda, Russell, Annie, Jessica and Sara Jo; Sisters Patricia (Norm) Humphrey of Prescott, AZ and Joan Hockamier of Phoenix, AZ; Sister-in-law Sharon Wittum of Auburn Hills; several nieces and nephews.
