Don was born on May 13, 1929 to Edward and Edith (Sutter) Ebenhoeh at their family home in Maple Grove Township. Don married the love of his life, Jean Wendling, on May 9, 1953. They shared 65 years of marriage together and raised six children.
Upon graduation from the Saginaw Business Institute, he elected to join the United States Army, during which he served in the Korean War. He worked as a bookkeeper for the Shiawassee County Road Commission for 18 years, and spent over twenty years as an accountant for Saginaw Steering Gear, retiring in 1988.
As a lifelong member of St. Michael Catholic Church of Maple Grove, Donald served in numerous capacities supporting the parish, including becoming the first lay lecture. He also served as a Eucharistic minister, parish council member and alter server trainer for many years. Donald was a member of the VFW and the Knights of Columbus. He was a founding member of the Twin Township Ambulance, serving as a volunteer EMT and Chairman of the board for many years.
Most importantly, Don was a devoted family man, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and uncle. His faith was precious to him and he embraced and lived the scripture. He has touched the lives of many through his love, patience and generosity. He enjoyed the outdoors, traveling with his family and spending time at their cottage on Crystal Lake.
Don is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Jean Ebenhoeh; his children, Don (Nancy) Ebenhoeh, Richard (Tammi) Ebenhoeh, Jeffrey (Ronna) Ebenhoeh, Jill (Jim) Larkin, Sue Jenkins, and Scott Ebenhoeh; his 16 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; his brothers, Howard (Bonnie) Ebenhoeh and Patrick (Judy) Ebenhoeh; his sisters, Eleanor (Carl) Drexler and Jane (Dan) Ruddy; many nieces and nephews, and countless cherished relatives and dear friends.
