Jack L. Cyr age 86 of Byron, passed away at his home on Thursday, October 17, 2019. Mass of the Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM on Wednesday, October 23, 2019 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Durand. Rev. Fr. Gregg Pleiness will be officiating. Burial will follow to Sanford Cemetery in Howell. Family will receive friends on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at Watkins Brothers Funeral Homes, Durand Chapel.
Jack was born August 2, 1933 in Ferndale, MI a son of Valmont and Eileen (Fournier) Cyr. On January 19, 1957 he married Janet Shettler. He enjoyed hunting and he was a farmer all of his life.
Jack is survived by his wife, Janet Cyr; children, Lynne (Bill) Smithingell, Laurie (Jerry) Sneed, John Cyr and Michelle (Jeff) Meisel; 9 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren and sisters, Pat (Jim) Wilbur and Jeannine Cyr. He was preceded in death by his parents, Valmont and Eileen Cyr and brother, Robert Cyr.
