SHEWMAKER, Marjorie “Jewell” - Of Flint, age 81, died Sunday, March 24, 2012 at Genesys Regional Medical Center.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 28, 2013
at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Pastor Wendell Wood officiating.
Burial in Crestwood Cemetery.
Those desiring may make contributions to Alzheimer’s Association.
Visitation 2-8 p.m. Wednesday and 10 a.m. Thursday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Marjorie was born in Lafe, Arkansas on April 14, 1931, daughter of
the late Oscar and Ada (Hooker) Mosbey.
On September 13, 1952 she married Marion “Jack” Shewmaker in Angola, Indiana.
Mrs. Shewmaker worked for The Regional Detention Center in Flint for 30 years.
Surviving are son, Danny (Kim);
daughter, Shelby (David) Brandon;
three grandchildren, Jonathan Shewmaker,
Derrick and Kevin Brandon;
brother, Kenneth Mosbey;
sister, Carolyn Lester;
brothers-in-law, Clevie (Marilyn) and Richard Carlisle;
sisters-in-law, Edith Mosbey and Shirley Helen (Lin) Liverett;
many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Marion, on March 16, 2012; son, Lanny Joe Shewmaker; brothers, Norman and George; sisters, Bernice, Juanita, Betty, Katherine and Nina.
