LEWIS, Marie – of Flint, age 89, passed away August 28, 2011. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Thursday, September 1, 2011 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 404 N. Dayton St., Davison; Rev. Fr. Carl Simon celebrant. Burial will follow in Crestwood Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison. A Scripture Service will be held 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. On Thursday, there will be visitation at the church for one hour prior to the Mass. Memorial contributions may be made to Home and Hospice Advantage of Flint.
Marie was born in London, England on March 2, 1922, daughter of the late Philip and Lillie (Potter) Broadbent. Marie Broadbent married Bernard Lewis on July 21, 1947. Bernard preceded her in death in January 2003.
Marie is survived by her sons, Robert (Jeanette), Philip (Olivia), Stephen (Judith) and Matthew; daughters, Barbara (Michael) Goodhue and Kathleen Hough; twelve grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank Tina and Thelma of Home and Hospice Advantage of Flint for their wonderful care of Marie.
