James Willard Vaughan, age 79, of Lapeer, formerly Columbiaville passed away at home May 11, 2018 surrounded by his loving family and friends.
James was born February 13, 1939 in Flint, Michigan to the late Willard and Irene Vaughan. He married Gloria Jean Heath from Clio on May 22, 1958 in Flint. James enjoyed watching sports, playing baseball, old country music, and spending time with his family. He was a former member of the Columbiaville Fire Department, and dedicated volunteer for Lapeer School sports.
James is survived by his wife Gloria, Children: James (Janice) Vaughan of Columbiaville, Deloris (Chris) Saigh of Fraser, Shelly Walter (Brian Whitemore) of Holly, Joyce Guilfoil (Clarence Taylor) of Virginia, Siblings: Arthur Vaughan of Swartz Creek, Deloris Young of North Branch, Joyce Talley of Lapeer, and Willie Comstock of Columbiaville, 12 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by parents, son Arthur, brother Lorenzo.
Funeral service 1:30 PM on Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at Jansen Family Funeral Home - Columbiaville, where friends may visit 10:30 AM till time of service. Interment Stiles Cemetery. Memorial contributions in memory of James may be made to the family.
