WILLIAMS, Jean Phyllis. – age 83, passed away on Thursday, August 22, 2019, a long time Birch Run resident, retired nurse, and loving mother of two children. Funeral Services will be held at 11AM Thursday, August 29, 2019 at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Birch Run. Burial in Birch Run Township Cemetery. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Wednesday from 3PM until 8PM, and on Thursday from 10AM until the time of service at 11AM.
Jean was born on October 19, 1935 in Standish, Michigan to George and Martha (Marquardt) Peltier. She received her nursing degree from Hurley School of Nursing in 1956. Jean retired from Hurley Medical Center in 1989, and the Lutheran Home in 2007. In 1970, she married John Williams. They raised two sons, Michael and Steven.
Jean loved her children and her grandchildren, Connor and Caylee Wilson. They grew up with their grandmother and she enjoyed being a part of their life. Jean also enjoyed cooking and baking. She had fun bringing home the best bargains at local garage sales, enjoyed craft projects and knitting afghans.
She is survived by: Children: Steven Williams and Michael Williams (partner Alisha Wilson); Grandchildren: Connor and Caylee; Sisters: Lois, Nancy, and Caroline; Several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
