HENSLEY, Larry T. – of Flint, age 70, passed away May 25, 2016 at his residence. A Funeral Service will be held 12 Noon Saturday, May 28, 2016 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison; Pastor Bud Welton officiating. Burial with Military Honors will be in Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 PM Thursday, 12-4 PM Friday and 10 AM until the time of the service on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or Hopewell Baptist Church.
Larry was born in McAndrews, KY on October 20, 1945, son of the late Joseph and Jessie (Rose) Hensley. He married Judy Ann Kehl in Flint, MI and she preceded him in death on October 14, 1992. Larry married Avis (Jean) McLaren in Flint, MI on April 21, 1998. He was a Vietnam Veteran with Honorable discharge. Larry loved playing cards, going to the casino and driving his golf cart. He retired from General Motors after 30 plus years of service. He loved model cars and purchasing full size cars, especially GM vehicles. Larry was the most giving man, doting husband, father, grandfather and an all-around great guy.
Larry is survived by his wife, Avis (Jean) (McLaren) Hensley; children, Tina Louise Heath and Larry Christopher Hensley; step children, Robert (Sandy) Brown and Marlynn (Mike) Breasbois; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters, Margie Felice and Connie Smith-Hinch. He was preceded in death by his first wife; parents; and 12 brothers and sisters.
