NELSON, Diane J. – Of Mundy Township, age 64, left our home to be with Our Heavenly Father, on Saturday, December 13, 2014 at her residence.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at Lamb of God Lutheran Church, 2051 West Maple Avenue, Flint, Pastor Paul Boerger officiating.
Cremation will take place following the service.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Diane Nelson to Lamb of God Lutheran Church Building Fund.
Visitation 12-3 p.m. and 5-8 p.m. Monday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road.
Diane will be at the church from 1 p.m. Tuesday until the time of the service.
Diane was born in Flint, Michigan on April 1, 1950, the daughter of Robert and Vivian Thacker.
She attended Redeemer Lutheran and Southwestern High School and graduated from Baker College.
She married Kurt Nelson in July, 1968.
She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, playing with her dog, Bandit, reading, shopping, caring for her plants and attended Sunday church.
Diane worked at Robert Halls Sales, Federals office, Slenderform Universal instructor and Venture Production as a supervisor, retiring in 2008.
Surviving by husband, Kurt Nelson;
daughter, Traci (Mark) Klimek,
sons, Mike Nelson and (fiancee' Kelly Duckworth)
and Jeff Nelson;
three grandchildren, Harley, Ella and Haylee;
mother, Vivian Thacker;
one brother, Robert (Sharon) Thacker;
three sisters, Janet (Ken) Lawrence,
Judy Thacker and (fiancee' Jim Simons) and
Lori (Dale) Norrington;
sister-in-law, Coleen DeMoss;
brother-in-law, Harvey Taylor;
several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Thacker.
Diane greatly appreciated all of the great care that was given to her by Lonie, Nancy, Tracy and the hospice team.
