ELLIS, Marion “Dale” – Of Swartz Creek, age 72, died Saturday, November 2, 2013 at Durand Senior Care & Rehab Center.
Visitation 4-8 p.m. Monday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road.
Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 5, 2013 at Grace Lutheran Church, 2526 Corunna Road, Flint, Pastor Samuel Hacker officiating.
Mr. Ellis will be at the church after 10 a.m.
Burial in Crestwood Cemetery with military honors under the auspices of VFW Chevrolet Motor Post #3087.
Marion was born in Dexter, Missouri, on October 19, 1941, the son of the late Claude and Dolly (Eggli) Ellis.
On November 25, 1968 he married JoAnn Nagel in Flint, Michigan and she preceded him in death on May 25, 2006.
Dale proudly served in the U.S. Navy. He was an avid NASCAR fan.
He retired from General Motors after 30 years of service.
He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church.
Surviving are son, Robert Ellis;
granddaughter, Shawn Marie;
siblings, Kerry Ellis, Donald Ellis and wife Jeanell, Bert Ellis and partner, Scott Schnieder, Connie Ellis and husband Ken Matykiewicz;
many nieces and nephews.
Dale was always there to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.
