KEY, Herbert Maurice “Rick” - Of West Branch, formerly of Flint, age 88, died Saturday, December 16, 2017 at his residence.
Funeral service will be held 1pm Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint,
Pastor Thomas Mattiuzzo officiating.
Burial in Crestwood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice Compassionate Care in West Branch or Riverside Tabernacle.
Visitation 11am Wednesday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Rick was born in Kennett, Missouri on October 14, 1929, the son of the late Ulis and Clella (Clubb) Key. On October 10, 1953, he married Wilma Olsen in Flint. He served first in the United States Navy and later in the United States Army and Army Air Corp. Rick retired from Buick after 42 years of service. He was a member of Riverside Tabernacle and was Brittany Estates Captain of the Billiards Team and also a member of Dalton Airport Flying Club in the 1960’s early 1970’s.
Surviving are wife, Wilma;
children, Debra Key, Theresa Herd, Randy Key, Denise Key, Shawn (Jody) Key and Wesley (Kimberly) Key;
14 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren;
and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by, brothers, Larry and John Thomas, son-in-law, Dale Herd and great-grandson, Dalen Herd.
