CORCORAN, Mary A. – of Clio, age 84, died Thursday, March 29, 2018 at Brookdale of Grand Blanc. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11AM Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at St. Mary Catholic Church – 11110 Saginaw St., in Mt. Morris. Rev. Fr. Roy Horning officiating. The family will receive visitors at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio on Tuesday from 3PM until 8PM and at the church on Wednesday from 10AM until the time of Mass at 11AM. A Rosary will be prayed 7PM Tuesday evening at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
Mary was born April 11, 1933 in Flint, Michigan to the late Gerard and Beatrice (Robinson) Malia, Sr. She graduated from St. Mary School in Mt. Morris in 1951 where she was known for being the best free throw shooter on her basketball team. Mary later attended Flint Junior College. She married the love of her life, George M. Corcoran, Jr. September 13, 1952 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Mt. Morris. He preceded her in death November 27, 2010. Mary was a member of Saints Charles and Helena Catholic Church in Clio and St. Mary Catholic Church in Mt. Morris. She owned and operated Corcoran Catering and Corcoran Fish & Chips Restaurant in Clio for many years. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, playing Bingo, and crocheting. Mary also enjoyed Detroit Pistons Basketball.
Surviving are: Loving furry companion, Fat Cat; Children: Francis “Cork” and wife Becky (Melick) Corcoran, Catherine and husband Richard Pavley, Susan and husband Terry Weishuhn, Chris and wife Shelley (Simpson) Corcoran, Karen Robinson, Julia and husband Tom Burrows, Ann and husband Al Provow, Amy and husband Brian Zdanowski; Former son in law, Paul Bargardi; 18 grandchildren: Jeff (Abby) Corcoran, Scott (Joanne) Gross, Erika (Adam) Peyerk, David Gross, Amanda (Matt) Harris, Michael (Audrey) Weishuhn, Sean Corcoran, Kiley Corcoran, Shameka Robinson, Scott Mich-Robinson (Tiffany Holland), Casey Mich-Robinson, Laura Horst, Logan (Summer) Horst, Tyler, Cody, Ali, and Mackenzi Provow, and Travis Zdanowski; 13 great grandchildren: Aidan, Heath, Ian, Connor, Emma, Anna, Owen, Maya, Jane, Mason, Keegan, Kaylynn, Deklyn, and one on the way; Many nieces, and nephews; Several brothers in law, and sisters in law.
