CURRY, Lester C. – Of Flint, age 88, died Sunday, March 6, 2016 at Melody Gardens.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 10, 2016 at
South Flint Tabernacle, G-3450 South Saginaw St, Burton, Pastor Jason McGhee officiating.
Burial in Crestwood Cemetery.
Visitation 2-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road.
Mr. Curry will be at the church for viewing from 12 noon Thursday until the time of the service at 1 p.m.
Lester was born in Athens, Alabama on December 30, 1927, the son of
the late Andy and Laural (Pepper) Curry.
He moved to the Flint area from Truman, Arkansas in 1952.
He married Jo Etta Shands on July 3, 1947 in Truman, Arkansas.
He had been a member of the South Flint Tabernacle Church since 1952.
Mr. Curry worked for Standard Cotton Products and was self-employed.
Surviving are wife Jo Etta;
four sons, David of Mundy Township, Sam and wife Diane of Flint, Mike of Grand Rapids, Randal and wife Jill of Mundy Township;
11 grandchildren and
21 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, son-in-law, Sharon and Anthony Bailey; daughter-in-law, Linda Curry; one sister and four brothers.
