TATRO, Ronald G. – of Montrose, age 81, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 24, 2020 at his residence with family by his side. Funeral Mass will be held 11AM Monday, March 2, 2020 at Good Shepherd Catholic Church – 400 N. Saginaw St., in Montrose. Rev. Fr. Anthony Brooks officiating. Cremation to follow. The family will receive visitors at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Montrose on Sunday from 2PM until 8PM and at the church on Monday from 10AM until the time of Mass at 11AM. A Knights of Columbus Rosary will be held at 6PM Sunday evening at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Genesee County or the Wounded Warriors Family Support.
Ron was born February 8, 1939 in Flint, Michigan to the late Raymond and Blanche (Chayer) Tatro. He graduated from Sacred Heart High School in 1957 and later attended Mott Community College. Ron married Patricia Roush in 1959 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Flint. She preceded him in death July 10, 2019. Mr. Tatro retired from General Motors in 1992 with 28 years of service. He was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church and Fourth Degree Knight of the Knights of Columbus - Good Shepherd Council #8669. Ron was also a member of the Old Newsboys of Flint, and North American Hunt Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and woodworking. Above all, Ron loved spending time with his family.
Surviving are: Sister, Ruth Ann Wright; Daughters: Wendy J. Tatro, Amy L. Tatro, and Elizabeth A. (Paul) Crist; Grandchildren: Arica Sageman, Amanda Siple, Dustin (Sarah) Walker, Ronald J. Tatro-Reed, Cheyenne Reed, Ashley (Eric) LePres, Jennifer (Raider) Graessler, and Sarah Bowe; Great grandchildren: Taylor, Tannor, Miley, Sophie, Ben, Bryson, Reagan, Sparrow, Jack, Ian, Stella, William, Kaia, Sammie, and Gavin; Special thank you to niece, Michelle Haba and special acknowledgement to nephew, Terry Tatro-Wieland; Several other loving nieces and nephews, family and friends.
