SHOOK, Barbara – of Montrose, age 78, died Saturday, May 11, 2019 at her home. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, May 16, 2019 at O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Montrose, Michigan. Pastor Shane Miller officiating. Burial in Montrose Township Cemetery. The family will receive visitors on Wednesday, May 15, 2019 from 1:00 PM to 8:00PM and on Thursday from 10:00 AM until time of service at 11:00 AM. Memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or Reverence Home Hospice.
Barbara was born October 7, 1940 in Norwich, England to the late Arthur and Doris (Thompson) Lansdale. She grew up in England and graduated from high school there. On June 8, 1963 she married Carl Shook in Reno, Nevada. Barbara worked for Sharon’s Bridal for several years and also made numerous wedding cakes for people over the years. She was a Scout Leader for 10 years, volunteered at Montrose Schools, and was also a member of the Flushing Roadrunners. Barbara enjoyed square dancing, round dancing, sewing, and painting. She also liked traveling, cruises, and has been to every state except 4 with her husband Carl. However, her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family and reading to her grandchildren.
Surviving are: Husband of 55 years Carl; Children, Debra (Greg) Lintz, Tracy (William) Burch, Tina (Sean) Trantham; Grandchildren, Crystal (Drew) Thornton, Ashley (Drew) Youngston, Robert Burch, Kayla (Nate) Hanselman, Brandon Burch, Sidney Trantham, Maddie Lintz, Tyler Burch, Sawyer Trantham; Great Grandchildren, Emma, Reese, Olivia, Ryder, Grady, Ryver; Siblings, Richard (Sue) Lansdale, Joyce (Dudley) Smith, Clive (Penny) Lansdale; Brother in law, David Grimmer; Sister and Brother in laws, Kathryn (Jose) Ramirez, Bruce (Nancy) Shook, Carlene (Al) Crowley, Janie Eggleston, Erma Pottruff, Glenn (Mary) Shook, Darryl (Betty) Shook, Linda Hughes, Marlene Yzaguirre; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her Parents; Sister, Sylvia Grimmer; Brother in laws, Michael Shook, Dale Shook.
