Joshua Dodd, 39, of Birch Run (formerly of Vassar), passed away from complications of metastatic melanoma on December 12, 2019 – Josh fought cancer strong and hard for 20 years.
Joshua was born April 5, 1980 in Lapeer, Michigan to Donald and Gail (Running) Dodd. He graduated from Vassar High School, class of 1998. Josh went on to earn his bachelor’s degree in accounting from Davenport University. He worked in banking before his illness precluded him from work. Josh loved computers and computer gaming all of his life. He loved music – everything from Metallica to Madonna. Above all, Josh loved his children.
Josh is survived by his beloved children: Jordan, Haley and Karsyn Dodd; mother, Gail Vanhamlin of Birch Run; father, Don Dodd of Saginaw; grandparents: Bill & Joann Running of Lapeer; sisters: Jessica (Ray) Friske and Danielle Dodd. Josh is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Allison and his grandparents: Martha & Don Dodd.
In keeping with Josh’s wishes, cremation services have been entrusted to Muir Brothers Funeral Home, Lapeer. A private memorial service will be held in the near future. Memorial contributions may be made to the Melanoma Cancer Research at the University of Michigan, Rogel Cancer Center, 1500 East Medical Center, Drive, Ann Arbor, Michigan 48109-0944.
