Go Blue!
Born on November 19, 1938, in Flint, Michigan, Bob was the cherished son of Wilton and Helen (Santucci) Everett. He grew up on Fifth Avenue with his five brothers and graduated from St. Michael’s Catholic School. His dedication to service was evident through his time in the Army National Guard, a period he looked back on with pride. Bob’s career began in 1953 at Hamady Brothers grocery stores, where he started in the stock room. Over the decades, he built a respected career as a corporate grocery buyer and ad designer for Hamady and Carter Foods. In 2020, Bob retired from Keebler/Kellogg, marking the end of a long and dedicated professional journey. In 1973, Bob married Patricia Plane, and together they raised three children while actively participating in Holy Rosary school activities. Bob was known for his zest for life; he was an avid golfer, a talented dancer, and enjoyed tending to his yard. His culinary skills were legendary among family and friends, with his spaghetti, lasagna, and especially his chicken soup often described as the best remedy for any ailment. Bob’s pride in his family was boundless. He was a devoted supporter of his grandchildren, regularly attending their school and sporting events. His enthusiasm for their accomplishments, including college, skilled trades, and even the Michigan State Police Academy, was unwavering.
Bob is survived by his wife, Patti; children, Kristie (Vincent) Zamora, Kimberly (Charlie) Hubbard, and Scott (Sarah) Everett. He leaves behind his beloved grandchildren, Devin (Lacey) Hubbard, Vincent Zamora (girlfriend, Chloe Clark), Lexus Hubbard, Dylan Everett, Patrick Zamora, Brady Harrison, and Macy Hubbard; as well as his great-granddaughter, Gia Anne Hubbard; brothers, Joseph (Diane), Thomas (Paula), and Michael; and his special buddy Cocoa. He was preceded in death by brothers, Bill and Donald. The family extends their heartfelt thanks to Hurley Medical Center’s ER and ICU teams, the Burton Police, and the Calvert Park neighbors for their support and care.
