STANFORD, Marvin Eugene - age 66, of Flushing, died Wednesday, June 8, 2011 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Services will be held at 11 AM Monday, June 13, 2011. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be held 1-4 and 5-8 PM Sunday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to Mt. Hope Church SLAM Youth Group. Mr. Stanford was born August 21, 1944 in Merna, NE, the son of Ralph Franklin and Irene Marie (Schultz) Stanford. He married Frances Pitts and she preceded him in death on April 5, 2010. Mr. Stanford was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and retired from General Motors in 1989 after 31 years of service. He was a member of Mt. Hope Church in Grand Blanc. Surviving are: son, Fred Stanford of Davison; two daughters, Juliann (Timothy) Brooks of Flushing, Shannon (Brian) Hudson of Grand Blanc; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister, Joan (Jim) Daily of El Toro, CA; two brothers, LeRoy (Caroline) Stanford of Burton, Clark (Elaine) Stanford of OR; many nieces and nephews.
