CIOSEK, Joseph Martin – of Davison, age 87, passed away January 3, 2016 at his residence. A Funeral Mass followed by Military Honors conducted under the auspices of the American Legion Post # 267 will be celebrated 11 AM Friday, January 8, 2016 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 404 N. Dayton St., Davison; Rev. Fr. Andrew A. Czajkowski celebrant. Cremation will follow the mass. Visitation will be 5-8 PM Thursday at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison and 10-11 AM Friday at the church. A Scripture Service will be held 6:15 PM Thursday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Michigan Crossroads Council, D-Bar-A Scout Ranch # 1302710, 507 W. Atherton Rd., Flint, MI 48507.
Joseph was born in Lake Orion, MI on March 7, 1928, son of the late Joseph and Kathryn (Boike) Ciosek. He married Myrtle Gardner on April 29, 1949 at Davison First Baptist Church and she preceded him in death on April 16, 2006. Joseph was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the American Legion Post # 267. Joseph worked for Buick in skilled trades, retiring in 1982. Joseph loved hunting, fishing and trapping.
Joseph is survived by his sons, Craig , Scott, James (Janice), David; grandchildren, Jennifer, Joseph, Jaynie (Cameron) Shiflett, Jade, Ashley; great-grandchildren, Bri, Joe, Charlie, James, John, Micah; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Tonia; siblings, Jacob, Theresa, Stan, Edward, Thomas, Rosalie.
