Julie Kay (Devota) Jamick
Age 53 of New Lothrop passed away peacefully at home on May 2, 2019.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00am on Monday, May 6, 2019 at St. Michael Catholic Church of Maple Grove. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Nelson-House Funeral Homes Martin Chapel on Sunday, May 5 from 12:00 to 8:00pm with a Prayer service at 7:00pm.
Julie was born on August 18, 1965, the third child of Patrick J. and Eileen Devota. She graduated from New Lothrop High School in 1983. She continued her education at Northwood Institute, receiving a Bachelor's degree in accounting in 1987. Julie's 32-year accounting career included employment at Coopers and Lybrand (Detroit), Dupree and Ryden (Flint) and Hurley Medical Center.
Julie married her best friend and love of her life, Harvey Jamick, Jr. on December 30, 1988. Together they created a loving family of three boys, Joseph (24), Christopher (22), and Allan (17).
The most important thing to Julie was spending time with her family, sharing many vacations in Ludington, never missing the boys' athletic events, and always having a seat at the card table. She found passion in baking, tending to her garden, and spending time with her pets. Her life was also filled with other interests including reading, fishing, golfing, and watching movies.
Julie was a lifelong member of St. Michael's church where she served as a lector and Eucharistic minister. She was active in many professional and community organizations, most recently the New Lothrop sports boosters, Flint Zonta, American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and Fair Winds Girl Scouts Council.
Carrying on the memory of Julie is her devout family, Harvey, Joseph (Chaise), Christopher, and Allan; her parents, Pat and Eileen Devota; her siblings, Patrick (Angie) Devota, Jacqueline (Frank) Burgess, and Andrew (Jane) Devota; her sisters-in-law, Joyce (Mike) Evans, Julie Beckman, and Carol Jamick (John Walker); and many nieces, nephews, and several special friends.
Preceding Julie is her parents-in-law, Harvey E. and Cecelia Jamick Sr.; her nephew and godson, Frank E. Burgess Jr.; her brother-in-law, Jerry Beckman; and many other family members.
Julie was a loving member of our family and will be greatly missed. For the care provided during her journey, the family would like to thank the University of Michigan Medical Center, Hurley Medical Center, and Memorial Healthcare Hospice.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Family's wishes. |
