DIGNAN, Stella G. - Of Burton, age 93, died Monday, June 17, 2013 at Hurley Medical Center.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11am Friday, June 21, 2013 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 5199 Richfield Road, Flint,
Father George V. Puthenpeedika officiating.
Burial in New Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Holy Rosary Catholic Church Building Fund.
Visitation 1-8pm Thursday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint. A Rosary will be prayed 7pm Thursday evening at the funeral home. Stella will be at the church 10am Friday until the time of the Mass.
Stella was born in Flint on January 7, 1920, the daughter of the late John and Mary (Pulaski) Poczatek. Stella was a volunteer and very active with Holy Rosary Catholic Church, including being a charter member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, member of the Daughters of Isabella and she belonged to the Altar Society. She also enjoyed bowling, painting and crafts.
Surviving are children, William Dignan of Swartz Creek, Daniel and wife Kathy Dignan of Flint, Kathy and husband Bob Melrose of Linden and Christine and husband Dennis Prescott of Burton;
companion, Frank Kardos;
8 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Stella was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth James Dignan in 1995 and daughter-in-law, Loretta Dignan in 2003.
