Mrs. Darnton was employed as a Teacher at Flint Community Schools from 1960-1973 at Scott Elementary and Holmes Junior High School.

It’s true, as Carol claimed, that she would never be remembered as a great housekeeper. Instead, she will be remembered as a great mom, a great sister, a great friend and a great cook. She will also be remembered for her ability to remember; she was the keeper of family stories and sage of family lore and history.

She will be remembered as a proud and loving aunt, she delighted in all the accomplishments of her many nieces, nephews and their progeny.

Carol will be remembered for her curiosity about people and the world. She was never too shy to ask direct questions because she cared about the answers. She will be remembered as an enthusiastic conversationalist, a Facebook lurker, and a lover of games and puzzles. Her students will remember her as a great teacher who wanted everyone to love algebra as much as she did.
