LUCAS, Evelyn Maxine (Shaw) – of Grand Blanc, MI, age 85, passed away Saturday, January 12, 2019 after battling severe Alzheimer’s dementia. A Funeral Service will be held 12 PM Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423. Entombment immediately following the service in Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive visitors 1-7 PM Tuesday, January 15, 2019 and 10 AM-12 PM Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at Allen Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, in Evelyn’s memory.
Evelyn was born in Sikeston, MO on August 8, 1933, daughter of the late Arbie and Eva (Fodge) Shaw. She married Stanley V. Lucas on October 24, 1970 and he preceded her in death on June 30, 2004. Evelyn was a member of the Burton Eagles F.O.E. #3814. She dearly loved her family and was proud of her southern upbringing. Evelyn will always be remembered as a “Silly Southerner” with a feisty, boot scootn’, fun loving spirit.
Evelyn is survived by her daughter, Sharon Hopkins; 5 grandchildren, William (Angela) LaBelle, Robert Laboch, Kaylee Tucker, Crystale Tucker and Tiffany Petri; 4 great-grandchildren, Cody LaBelle, Tyler LaBelle, Serenity Long and Alayna LaBelle; step-son, Allan Lucas; special friend, Debra Ranger; many other loving family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her 2 sons, William Stephen Tucker and Mark Anthony Tucker; grandson, Shaun Michael LaBelle; great-grandson, Shaun William LaBelle; 2 sisters, Mary Shaw and Margaret Sitkes.
The family would like to extend a very special thank you to the nurses and staff of Grace Hospice, Steven Marlet and Christine Groff for their compassionate and loving care of Evelyn.
