GOODING, Sandra Lou - Age 75, of Gaines, died Wednesday July 22, 2020. A private family service will be held at Gaines United Methodist Church, W, 117 Clinton St., Gaines. Pastor Barb Benjamin, officiating. A public visitation will be held Sunday, July 26, 2020 from 2PM-3PM at the church. Arrangements provided by Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. Burial 1PM Saturday, August 15 at Linwood Cemetery, AuGres. Those desiring may make contributions to Gaines United Methodist Church. Sandy
was born October 1, 1944 in Tawas, the daughter of Wallace Robert and Rhea May (Oates) Jennings. Mrs. Gooding graduated from AuGres Sims High School in 1962. She has been a resident of Gaines since 1966. Sandy retired in 2006 from Swartz Creek Community Schools as a teacher with 37 years of service. She was an avid Detroit Tigers and Pistons fan, enjoyed bowling and was a member of the Gaines Community Band. She was a loving mother, grandmother, aunt, sister and daughter. Surviving are: son, Todd Alan Gooding of Gaines; daughters, Ann Marie (Matthew Ketchum) Faulkner of Cadillac, Jennifer Lynn (Bryan) Chomicki of Pittsburgh, Jacqueline Lee Parsons of Swartz Creek; 6 grandchildren, Ryan Faulkner, Joe Faulkner, Ava Parsons, Grace Parsons, Alexandra Chomicki and Katherine Chomicki. She is also survived by her mother, Rhea Jennings of AuGres; brothers, Richard (Linda) Jennings of FL, Robert (Biba) Jennings of AuGres, Tim (Jean) Jennings of Parma and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Wallace Robert Jennings and sister, Karen Currie. Tributes may be shared on the obituaries page of www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
