SMITH, Raymond F., Jr. – of Flushing, age 86, passed away July 30, 2015 at his residence. A Funeral Service will be held 1 PM Monday, August 3, 2015 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison; his great-nephew, Pastor Jay Jones officiating. Burial will be in Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 10AM – 2PM & 4-8PM Sunday and 12 PM until time of service on Monday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Raymond was born in Flint, MI on July 6, 1929, son of the late Raymond F., Sr. and Inies (McDaniel) Smith. He married Barbara R. Card on October 17, 1953. Raymond was an avid NASCAR and Detroit Tiger fan. He was a very talented woodworker. Raymond enjoyed camping and fishing in Glennie on the AuSable River. He worked at E.I. DuPont in Security for 34 years.
Raymond is survived by his wife of 61 years, Barbara; children, Robin Lucas, Gail (Kevin) Parker, Glenda Breidenstein, David (Lea) Smith and Raymond Smith; Grandpa to, Chris, Jeri (Matt), Gary (Andrea), Ricky (Alyssa), Amber, Zac, Jessica, Menchie, Tabitha and Taylor (Chris); Big Poppa to 19 great-grandchildren; sisters, Dianne Anderson and Anna Coulter. He was preceded in death by son-in-law, Jerry Lucas; siblings, Mary Butcher, Delane Smith, Pearl Lahram and Elizabeth Smith. The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Halim, the staff at McLaren Select Care and Gentiva Hospice.
