COUGHLIN, Dolores Elizabeth – of Davison, age 91, passed away March 31, 2013 at her residence. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 AM Friday, April 5, 2013 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 404 N. Dayton St., Davison; Rev. Fr. Kenneth Coughlin and Rev. Fr. Andrew A. Czajkowski concelebrating. Burial will follow in St. John Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 PM Tuesday; 10 AM – 2 PM & 4-8 PM Wednesday and Thursday at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison. A Memorial Service, under the auspices of the Daughters of Isabella, Regina Coeli Circle, Davison will be held 6:30 PM Thursday. A Rosary will be prayed 7 PM Thursday. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the Mass on Friday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association or Avalon Hospice.
Dolores was born in Shephard, MI on August 18, 1921, daughter of the late Herman and Frances (Myers) Hoffman. She married Donald Coughlin in Irish Town, MI on October 25, 1941 and he preceded her in death on December 12, 1999. Dolores was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and the Daughters of Isabella. She enjoyed bowling, playing cards and dominos.
Dolores is survived by her children; Herman (Martie), Peggie Anne (Jim) Johnston, Bernard (Debbie), Jeanie Frakes, Julia (Jack) Stephenson, Rita DaFoe, Marie Coughlin and Debbie Zacek, June (Steve) Hewitt, Donna (Nabil) AbuHanna, Virginia Whitehead, Irene (Dale) Tinnin, Ted Coughlin and Don (Phyllis) Coughlin; daughter-in-law, Vicki Coughlin; 55 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; sister, Phyllis Roy; brothers, David (Carolyn) Hoffman, Ted (Judy) Hoffman and Raymond (Anna) Hoffman; brother-in-law, Bob; sisters-in-law, Marge, Mary and Rose. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Ray; grandchild, Marty; great-grandchildren, Jacquilyn and Aaron James.
